Our coaching is based on the Wheel of Health Model developed by the Duke University Health System
The Wheel of Health is a visual representation or model used in health and wellness coaching to assess and promote various dimensions of well-being in an individual's life. It is based on the concept that well-being is influenced by multiple interconnected aspects, and achieving balance in these areas leads to overall improved health and quality of life. The Wheel of Health may vary slightly in its specific dimensions, but it generally includes the following key components:
Physical Health: This dimension encompasses the individual's physical well-being, including aspects such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, managing chronic conditions, and maintaining a healthy body weight.
Emotional Health: Emotional well-being involves understanding and managing emotions, coping with stress, building resilience, and fostering positive emotional experiences.
Mental Health: This aspect focuses on cognitive health, including mental clarity, focus, memory, problem-solving abilities, and managing mental health conditions.
Social Health: Social well-being involves the quality of an individual's relationships, social support, communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain meaningful connections with others.
Spiritual Health: This dimension refers to a sense of purpose, meaning, and connection to something greater than oneself, which may be expressed through religion, nature, values, or personal beliefs.
Occupational Health: Occupational well-being pertains to job satisfaction, work-life balance, career development, and aligning one's work with personal values and interests.
Intellectual Health: Intellectual well-being involves continuous learning, engaging in stimulating activities, and nurturing curiosity to keep the mind active and growing.
Environmental Health: This dimension focuses on the impact of the physical environment on well-being, such as access to clean air, water, and safe living spaces.
